#2 Bring art in your daily life in 2025...Happy New Year ✨
Let’s Make 2025 a year of art As we step into this new year, I want to encourage you to make space for art and creativity in your daily life.
Welcome to 2025!
The turning of a year often brings with it resolutions, ambitions, and a sense of renewal. But this year, instead of simply chasing goals or checking boxes, I want to invite you to embrace something less tangible but deeply transformative: art and creativity.
In our fast-paced, productivity driven lives, we can easily forget how vital art is to our well-being. Yet, art—whether in the form of photography, painting, music, dance, or even a beautifully written sentence — matters today more than ever.
What is art, anyway?
I am not going to pretend that I can entirely and accurately define art, but rather explain my personal take on it.
When I talk about art, I’m not limiting it to prestigious museum exhibits. To me, art is any creation that, when presented to an audience, has the power to trigger a reaction or an emotion.
It’s that photograph that stops you scrolling because it captures the light so well. It’s a song that makes you feel like someone out there truly gets you. It’s a poem, a film, or even a street mural that leaves you looking at the world — or yourself — a little differently.
Art has a ripple effect. It stirs something within us: a shift in perspective, a spark of curiosity, a quiet sense of pleasure, or even a surge of energy. Art, at its core, changes us.
A healthy escape
Sometimes, people view “escaping” our daily lives as a bad thing, like we’re running away from our responsibilities. But art offers a different kind of escape, one that’s restorative and meaningful.
Through art, we’re invited into a world created by someone else’s imagination and perspective. For just a moment, we step away from the hustle, the noise, and the endless to-do lists, and we enter into something that’s bigger, deeper, or simply different.
Think about it: when you look at a photograph, you’re not just seeing an image — you’re seeing the world through the eyes of the photographer. You’re feeling what they felt, noticing what they noticed. Isn’t that an incredible gift?
Why creativity matters?
Art isn’t just about consumption — it’s about creation, too. When we create, we tap into something uniquely human. Whether it’s composing a piece of music, taking a picture, or writing down a few poetic lines, the act of creating allows us to process our thoughts and emotions in ways words alone cannot.
Creativity brings us closer to ourselves and to each other. It gives us a voice when we don’t know how to speak, and it connects us to communities of people who share our passions.
In photography, for example, creativity isn’t just about technique or skills — it’s about seeing. It’s about noticing the beauty of the light hitting a surface or finding a meaning in the mundane.
It’s about telling a story without words and inviting others into that story.
Make 2025 a year of art
Creating art is just one part of the equation. Consuming art and actively seeking out and experiencing the creative work of others is just as important. It’s how we stay inspired, expand our perspectives, and develop a deeper appreciation for the beauty around us.
Take time this year to seek out moments of artistic connection. Visit exhibits or galleries where you can immerse yourself in visual art up close. Go see a play, attend a concert, or experience the energy of a live performance that leaves you buzzing with joy. Make space in your day for art that moves you — whether it’s discovering a new photographer whose work resonates, reading a book by your favorite author, or simply scrolling through the creations of artists you admire online.
The more we expose ourselves to art, the more it becomes a part of our daily rhythm. It’s not about checking items off a cultural to-do list — it’s about slowing down, opening yourself to new perspectives, and finding joy in the act of discovery.
In 2025, let’s celebrate art in all its forms — not just as a luxury, but as a necessity for our hearts and minds. Let’s embrace creativity, not just as a skill, but as a way of life.
Because the world needs art. And, more than you may realize, you need it too.
Here’s to a year full of inspiration, beauty, and the courage to create and consume art.
Whishing you all a great 2025 💫
Thanks for reading.
